The short version: Khabrr has no accounts and no login. We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or location. Your preferences and bookmarks live only on your device.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Khabrr ("we", "our", "the app") handles and how. By using Khabrr, you agree to the practices described here.
1. No account, no personal data
Khabrr does not require you to sign up, log in, or provide any personal information to use the app. There are no usernames, no passwords, and no profiles.
2. Information stored on your device
The following is stored locally on your device only and is never sent to our servers:
Preferences — your chosen languages, country, and topics.
Bookmarks — articles you save to read later.
Liked articles — stories you've marked as liked.
This data stays on your phone. If you uninstall the app, it is deleted.
3. Information stored on our servers
To deliver news and notifications, we store a minimal amount of non-personal data:
Push notification token — an anonymous device token (issued by Apple or Google) and your selected country code, so we can send you the morning news bulletin. This token cannot be used to identify you personally.
Cached articles & summaries — news content shared across all users. This contains no user information.
4. Advertising
Khabrr displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
On iOS, we ask for your permission before any tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency. In the EU and UK, you'll see a consent form (Google UMP). If you decline, you'll still see ads — they just won't be personalised.
5. Third-party services
Khabrr relies on these services to function:
Supabase — hosts our shared news cache and push tokens.
News sources & RSS feeds — we link back to original publishers.
Google AdMob — advertising.
Apple / Google push services — notifications.
YouTube API Services — uploading our news videos to Khabrr's YouTube channel (see below).
6. YouTube
Khabrr publishes short news videos on its own YouTube channel. To upload them, we use YouTube API Services through an internal tool, Khabrr Reel Publisher, which is used only by the Khabrr team.
What it accesses: the tool signs in only to Khabrr's own YouTube channel, and asks Google only for permission to upload videos. It cannot read, edit or delete videos, and it does not access any other YouTube user's account or data.
What it stores: the only thing stored is the upload authorisation for Khabrr's own channel, kept encrypted in our deployment platform's secrets store. No data about YouTube viewers or other users is collected, stored or shared.
